Karnali Province Chief Minister Yamalal Kandel has urged the government to begin the reconstruction of the provincial assembly, which was damaged during the Gen-G movement.
Chief Minister Kandel said that the building associated with the pride of the province and the prestige of the state should not be left in a dilapidated state for a long time and that a repair and cleaning campaign should be started immediately.
During a meeting with Provincial Assembly Speaker Nanda Gurung and Provincial Assembly Secretary Jibaraj Budhathoki at the Provincial Assembly on Tuesday, Chief Minister Kandel suggested that the reconstruction of structures other than the hall should be started from the regular budget. He said, "The work should be started immediately without making the lack of budget an excuse. If necessary, the provincial government will arrange additional budget."
Chief Minister Kandel directed that the reconstruction of the administrative building should be managed within 10 days, including necessary basic management such as plastic chairs and general cleaning in the initial phase.
He expressed dissatisfaction that cleaning and restructuring of the Provincial Assembly premises had not started even after about 50 days after the protest on Bhadra 24. He said, "There are employees, but attention has not been paid to picking up fallen boards, garbage and damaged items. Now everyone should take the initiative to normalize the situation.' Chief Minister Kandel said that the provincial government's priorities include the reconstruction of the provincial assembly building, facilitating administrative services, and ensuring regular meetings of the assembly.
Speaker Gurung and Secretary Budhathoki also expressed their commitment to the Chief Minister to provide necessary support and advance the process for the reconstruction of the building.
