After 12 ward offices of Birendranagar were completely destroyed by arson and vandalism during the Gen-G movement, Birendranagar Municipality has started providing integrated services.

The municipality has provided the services of Ward No. 1 to Ward No. 12 from the Hall of the District Coordination Committee. Even after more than a month has passed since the fire, the municipality has not shown any interest in running the service from the ward office. As the Ward Office is not operational, the service users have to suffer unnecessary hardships.

Chairman of Birendranagar-1 Dinesh Khatri said that the service users had to reserve autorickshaws from far away and come to the municipality. Ward level people's representatives and service users have complained that the leadership of the municipality has neglected to run the ward office. Chairman of Ward 12, Chudamani Chapai, said that there is a lot of problem when providing services from one room. "Senior citizens, children, people who come to get death certificates and other recommendations have a problem," he said.

Even though it has been a month since the fire, the municipal office and the district coordination committee are still operating. Due to fire and vandalism, all the rooms, documents, furniture, computers and electronic materials of the ward office were destroyed and stolen.
