The first community library of the district, 'Him Kiran Community Library', has come into operation at Mahadev Secondary School located in Ward No. 2 of Chankheli Rural Municipality of Humla District.

Speaking at the opening of the library established under the initiative of Educating Remote Areas Nepal, Tekendra Upadhyay, the coordinator of the organization, asked the students to be interested in reading regularly.

He said, 'If students don't study, the society will deteriorate, if the society deteriorates, the country will deteriorate. Therefore, I request all the students to read the book.

former teacher and educationist Kulprasad Chaulagai said that the establishment of the library is a great opportunity for the students of Humla. He said, "We were not able to easily read stories and novels, even distant stories, and textbooks." Now a community library has been established, so all students should study with their heart.' 

According to him, there are about three thousand books in the library, including books on literary and political subjects. The chairman of the school management committee, Janak Budha, admitted that there are some weaknesses in the school management and said that they will improve in a new way in the future. 

Likewise, Govind Godasaini, co-coordinator of Educating Remote Areas Nepal, mentioned that the students of Karnali have little habit of going to the library and reading books and said, "We believe that the students of this school will set a good example."
