6 thousand 407 foreign tourists have entered Humla since Nepal's Humla Hilsa Pass, which is connected to China, was opened on 18th Baisakh.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Shankar Pokharel of the District Police Office informed that about 6,000 Indian pilgrims have reached Mansarovar Kailash from Nepalgunj to the first week of October. "From the second week of May, 25 foreign tourists had reached here via Humla to visit Mansarovar," he said.
Humla's route for Mansarovar Kailash Darshan is a short distance, so the number of foreign pilgrims increased at the airport until the first week of May, June, July, August and October.
After China opened the Hilsa border for Indian tourists including Humli after Corona, the number of religious tourists has increased, said Dipendra Bhandari, who is assigned from Simkot Rural Municipality at Simkot Airport.
Simkot and Namkha Rural Municipality of the district have been collecting fees from foreign tourists who have reached Humla. India has been collecting revenue of 1,100 per capita from pilgrims, while it has been charging 1,500 from tourists from other countries.
6,552,000 fees and 6,750,000 revenue have been collected from 5,957 Indians visiting Humla to visit Mansarovar Kailash.
Pilgrim season is over
This year's journey of Indian pilgrims going to visit Mansarovar Kailash through Hilsa is over. Hotelier Mim Lama informed that the time for this year's Mansarovar Kailash Yatra for Indian pilgrims is over as the cold is getting colder.
Pilgrims go to Mansarovar via Humla's Hilsa via Kathmandu, Nepalganj. After the Corona infection, a large number of Indian pilgrims have come to visit Mansarovar. Because of this, the hoteliers in Simkot, the headquarters, and Hilsa, the border with China, have earned good income this year. Although there are a few people from other countries who come to visit different places of the district, the time of Indian pilgrims has come to an end.
The Simkot Airport, which is busy from morning to 5:00 p.m. every day when tourists come, seems to be deserted at the moment. In May, June, July and August, the Simkot airport was very busy and there was a lot of traffic among the citizens. It has started to look deserted since the second week of August. With the end of the Mansarovar Kailash Darshan Yatra, the airport was less crowded when the private plane took off to the east.
