Geography around. All around are legendary rivers such as Bheri, Tamravani, Sundari Ganga. A temple on a hill in the middle. Four wooden lingas are erected around the temple. On the north side of the temple are famous mountains like Mukuteshwar, Kagmara. The mountains which look white with snow in winter and green in winter.

This is the hill temple, Tripurasundari . The religious, historical and geographical importance of the temple in Tripurasundari Municipality-1 Tripurakot of Dolpa is interesting. Not only Dolpa, this temple is one of Nepal's major Shaktipeeths and is known as the birthplace of Goddess Navadurga. The priests say that Tripurasundari is not only a temple but a complete Shaktipitha.

The attraction of these rivers and Himashrankhala temple has been increased. Adjoining the land on which the temple stands are huge cultivated fields. Along with the fresh air, there are grain crops such as rice, corn, wheat, barley, etc. The Tripurakot market area looks more attractive with colorful houses built on earth. After reaching the temple, the devotees who reach the temple are enthralled by such scenes.

Dasain Tika Jamra is performed only at the astrologer's site throughout the country, but in Tripurakot of Dolpa, Tika Jamra is performed at one's own site.  Priest Ramanand Upadhyay says that thousands of devotees come every year just to see the beautiful view from there because it is a tall temple. He said that in addition to the annual improvement in the management of the temple, the number of devotees has started to increase day by day after the access of the road to Dolpa through Nepalganj, Surkhet, Jajarkot has increased.

Tripurasundari Temple is famous not only in Nepal but also in India. Indians recognize this temple as the birthplace of the goddess . For the restoration of the temple, the Government of India had earlier supported 33.3 million rupees . Built in the ancient style, the temple is also the main destination of high-ranking personalities including prime minister, minister, ambassador, head of security agencies.

Tripurasundari has a tradition of being visited by most of the Nepali army chiefs. Not only that, the priests say that famous sadhus, saints, Mahajans, including ambassadors, prime ministers, Purvarajas, Shankaracharyas etc. have become the main choice.

Even though Tripurasundari is a big Shaktipeeth located in a remote and difficult district, the 88-year-old priest of Tripurasundari-1 Ravi Prasad Neupane said that due to the lack of publicity, the glory could not be known to all. He says, "Tripurasundari Temple is one of the major Shaktipeeths in Nepal". It is the birthplace of goddesses, the place where Sati Devi's rod fell and the place where Dasha Mahavidya also originated. He said that if the condition of the road is improved, thousands of devotees will come.

History and legend of Tripurasundari

Tripurasundari: Shaktipeeth standing in a picturesque landscape This temple is said to have been established in 1114 and is geographically isolated. According to the book 'Introduction to Tripurasundari Mandir' written by priest Neupane, there was a palace of King Vikram Shahi at Kotgarhi in Tripurakot gavis of Dolpa in ancient times. Shahi was running the kingdom from this place .

14 houses of this Kotgarhi kept Bista as their Qazi . There was a king's palace nearby where the temple is now. Near that palace there was a paddy threshing floor . Grain crops such as paddy and rice were threshed in Okhal.

While threshing the paddy, suddenly strange activities started to be seen in this okhal . At one time, when four grains of paddy were threshed, eight grains of rice were obtained, and sometimes, when two grains of rice were ground, only two grains of rice were produced. After these strange events started happening, the wives of Minister Bista told their husbands. The ministers were of various castes. When the Bishtas came to know about this, they told their king Vikram Shahi .

When King Shahi found out about such an amazing thing, he immediately called his subjects and ordered them to excavate what is on the bottom of this okhal . Hundreds of people were hired for excavation. Even after digging Okhal all day, the work was not done . The entire team returned home with the condition of completing the rest of the work tomorrow morning . Early tomorrow morning, when everyone came to excavate the remaining Okhal, everyone was even more surprised when they saw something like Okhal.

There is a legend that Varun Dev came and worshiped Satyadevi in this temple during the fall of Satyadevi. When the king came to know about this, he called more people from different villages and made them spend day and night to excavate the okhal . After working for two consecutive days, that okhal was excavated . A strange scene was seen inside that amazing oak. Odan of copper in Okhal Talapati . Ghee cry over Odan . A copper plate on it . Hexagonal device on plate . On top of that, there is a copper crucible and within it, the nine sisters of Nava Durga Bhagwati are seen as dolls .

While digging, a minister fainted after the tip of the baton hit the copper hexagon writing instrument. The goddesses in the form of butterflies flew and reached different places within and outside the district . As soon as the butterflies were touched, they turned into white stones (idols). It is mentioned in the book that the minister was ordered by sapna to know which goddess reached where. According to the

book, the dolls in the form of goddesses are famous as Bageshwari of Banke, Kanika Sundari of Jumla, Khairbang of Salyan, Ransaini Tripureshree of Baitadi, Badimalika of Bajura and others. The remaining four sisters Devi Bala, Tripura and Sundari have been worshiped in this temple.

A stone (idol) of a sister goddess was lost when the temple was stolen in the year 2057 but has not been found yet. The stones of the remaining three sisters Bhagwati were recovered at that time .

The three goddesses worshiped in the temple are also famous as Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, Mahasaraswati. Since ancient times, priests of Neupane caste have been worshiping in this temple . There is also a popular belief that by visiting the temple, you will get children.

Sati Devi's limbs fall

In Tripurasundari Temple, it is mentioned in the Swasthani that Sati Devi's vertebrae (back) collapsed while carrying the dead body of Satya Devi, the daughter of the Himalaya Mountains, during the Satya Yuga. Hindus consider this holy land as the famous Shakti Peeth. The mythological and historical importance of this temple is mentioned in various scriptures of Hinduism and it is said that by visiting the temple, all wishes will be fulfilled as well as liberation from this world.

Tripurasundari: Shaktipeeth standing in a picturesque landscape There is a legend that Varun Dev, the god of rain, came here during the fall of Satya Devi's kandyaula and worshiped Satya Devi by performing various worships.

Tika-Jamra at your own place

Dasain Tika Jamra is done only at the astrologer's place all over the country, but in Tripurakot of Dolpa, Tika Jamra is done at your own place . In Tripurasundari Temple, the Navratri Puja, which started from Aunsi, ends only in the evening of Shukladashami, so Tika Jamra starts only from the night of Dashami.

Local Ramprasad Devkota said that the priests and Brahmins who came to the temple for the Navratri worship exchanged greetings with each other and exchanged greetings with each other after the Dasain puja was properly immersed in the evening.

Brahmin, Nisani, Chadidar, Phulara, Damai and Kulal are assigned their respective responsibilities for managing the worship of the goddess. The responsibilities of worshiping Brahmin, Nisani carrying Nissan, Chhiddar cutting Ranga Boli, Phulara Devi carrying flower garlands, Damai playing bajagaza and Kulal Ranga tying ropes for Babiyo sacrifice are assigned . Both air and road can be used to reach Dolpa. You can reach Nepalgunj airport by plane, while you can reach Dolpa directly by car via Kathmandu-Nepalgunj-Surkhet-Jajarkot-Rukum.
