The Karnali highway, which has been blocked by landslides for three days, has not been opened yet.
Under the Surkhet-Jumla road section, Shubhkalika-1 of Kalikot was unable to open the blocked road due to the landslide that fell in the Gangane river.
Rajeev Shrestha, head of division office Jumla, said that although two excavators were used to remove the landslide from Sunday morning, the road could not be opened because the large stones could not be removed. He says that even if it is not possible, preparations are being made to reveal it through explosion.
Chief District Officer Gokarnaraj Suyal said that since the citizens were suffering due to the landslides of Gagane river, they have started digging holes by using machines (breakers) to break the big stones and requested the permission of the Ministry of Defense for the blasting. 'There is a situation where we have to blast a big stone,' he said, 'we will open the road by blasting the Nepali army today.'
The road has been blocked for 3 days and the citizens have been suffering.
