Last February, a 57-year-old man from Kalimati Rural Municipality of Salyan raped three local girls after buying chocolates and taking Lalife to his room. He is currently serving a prison sentence.

Last February 29th, a 15-year-old girl from Siddhakumakh Rural Municipality of the district, who was returning home after attending a relative's wedding, was forcibly raped by a 19-year-old neighbor who covered her face with a shawl and followed her to a wheat field near her home. He is also serving the sentence of the crime from inside the prison.

Only in Salyan last financial year 2081-82, 26 such cases of rape have occurred. In which women, teenagers, children are victims of rape . They are often subjected to violence from neighbors and acquaintances.

According to Police Inspector Baburam Basnet, Information Officer of District Police Office Salyan, 20 people were raped and 6 people were raped. There are many girls and teenagers among those who have been raped.
