22-year-old Santakala Bhandari Rokaya of Tilagufa-10 Ranawada, who has been suffering from labor pain for two days, has been taken to Surkhet by helicopter.
Bhandari, who was admitted to the local Chilkhaya basic health post after suffering from pain on Wednesday morning, was taken to Surkhet by helicopter after she could not give birth till Thursday morning.
City Chief Shankar Prasad Upadhyay said that a woman suffering from labor pains was rescued with the help of Presidential Women Upliftment Unit under the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens on the recommendation of the Calicot district administration.
According to Deputy Chief Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, a helicopter was sent after writing a letter to the local health post and the district administration after it was reported that a woman had left the village due to labor pains.
According to him, a helicopter reached Chilkhaya at 11 am on Thursday and the pregnant woman was rescued.
