Preparations for the sixth Jumla-Rara Ultra Marathon have been completed. President Saroj Shahi informed that preparations for the marathon organized by Karnali Sports Club Jumla on Saturday have been completed.
According to him, the technical work has been completed since the registration of the player's name. Information was given about the preparation of Jumla-Rara Marathon by holding a press conference at the office of Karnali Sports Club on Thursday.
This year 591 people will run in Jumla-Rara. There will be races of 51 km, 10 km and 5 km. President Shahi invited 1 person from Poland, 1 person from America, 1 person from France and 1 person from India. Foreign players have registered their names. 2 people from Tribhuvan Army Club have participated. Apart from Jumla, players have registered their names from Panchthar, Kathmandu, Nuwakot, Chitwan, Banke, Saptari and other districts. In the
marathon, check points have been placed at 6 places including Khalipatan, Chatha, Dab, Chuchemara Basecamp, Chuchemara Top. The first runner-up in the Jumla-Rara Ultra Marathon will get one lakh in cash, a certificate and a medal. The second place winner will get Rs 75,000 and the third place winner will get Rs 50,000 cash, certificate and medal. The organizer will award 20/20 thousand per person to the players who get the fourth and fifth place.
The organizer has estimated that the cost of the marathon will be around 28 lakh rupees. Jumla-Rara Marathon has been organized for 6 years to highlight the natural beauty and tourism potential of Karnali through the marathon.
