Ghumisara Budha Shahi of Narharinath Rural Municipality-7 Gublagda Malkot, who was suffering from labor pains since 4 o'clock on Monday morning, was rescued by a Nepalese army helicopter.
Village Chairman Nagendra Bahadur Bista said that 30-year-old Ghumisara was taken to Surkhet in a helicopter from the President's Women's Safety Program as recommended by the local health post Malkot after she experienced severe pain while giving birth to her second child. 'The situation became complicated after the labor pain in the village,' he said, 'helicopter rescue was possible after the initiative.'
Amar Bahadur Batala, the in-charge of Malkot Health Chowki, said that the situation was 'serious and complicated' and that he was referred because he needed high-level treatment immediately.
The district administration has informed that 9 pregnant mothers of Calikot have been rescued within one year.
