Bridge construction work has started in three places of Jajarkot where there is a problem in crossing the river due to lack of bridges.

Karnali Province Economic Affairs and Planning Minister Rajib Bikram Shah laid the foundation stone of three bridges in Jajarkot on Monday.

A concrete bridge was laid on the Ritthe River connecting Shivalaya Rural Municipality Ward 9 and Chhedaghat Municipality of Zarkot, a bailibridge bridge connecting Chhedaghat Municipality 5 and Junichande Rural Municipality 6 and a bailibridge bridge on Manghat River connecting Wards 5 and 12 of Chedagad Municipality.

Finance Minister Shah, who reached Jajarkot to lay the foundation stone of the bridge, said that according to the needs of the people, the government has given priority to the construction of roads and bridges.  Without the

bridge, the locals will have to make a circuitous and risky journey. The Karnali state government had called for tenders for the construction of three bridges. Arthamanri Shah said that he is committed to fulfilling the promise he made to the people in the election.

"I will not just lay the foundation stone, but the people here will be interested and aware of the development that has started in their area and the bridge will be built at the appointed time," he said, "After the construction of the bridge, the painful movement of the citizens here will end."

The Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure, Ishwarchandra Marhatha, claimed that the bridge will be built within the contract period as the state government has made a policy of not delaying development and construction.
