121 doctors and health workers working in various hospitals of Karnali province are without salary since last December
Rautahat Dr. Arjun Jaiswal passed the MBBS exam last year. He graduated in medicine from Chitwan Medical College on a government scholarship and has been working on a scholarship contract at Dullu Hospital in Dailekh since November last year.

Statistics Officer of the Ministry, Laxman Kandel said that 7 in Mugu, 5 in Dolpa, 2/2 doctors and health workers working in Surkhet, Directorate of Health Services and Ministry of Social Development have been without salary for 5 months.
According to him, 121 doctors and health workers are working on scholarship contracts across the province. He informed that they have been assigned to different hospitals in the 7th, 8th and 9th levels. In Karnali, along with doctors, health workers who have passed graduation and post graduation in BPH and nursing are working . The government has made a rule that doctors and health workers who have studied on scholarship must serve in government hospitals for at least 2 years .
In Rukum West, 12 people including medical officers, dental officers and public health officers have drawn the attention of the federal government with an ultimatum till Wednesday saying that they have not received their salaries from November to March. Dr. has warned to stop all services except emergency if the salary is not received within a week. Pradeep Shrestha said. "We have to work day and night to treat patients, but the government is ignoring our problems," he said, "till now, we are running the same day-to-day, how can we always work like this?" According to which, eighth level doctors get 50% incentive allowance in Surkhet, 80% in Dailekh, Jajarkot, Rukum West and Salyan, 90% in Kalikot and Jumla and 100% of basic salary in Humla, Dolpa and Mugu. 
Brish Bahadur Shahi, Head of the Health Services Division of the Ministry of Social Development, said that after the federal government sends the salary, incentives will be added to it. According to him, 75 to 125 percent incentive allowance has been given to 9th level doctors on a district basis.
"The special allowance has also helped to prevent the shortage of doctors in Karnali," he said, "but scholarship doctors have been in trouble for a long time as they have not been paid".
The ministry demanded Rs 12333 million for the salary of doctors and health workers. "The Federal Ministry of Finance has already started the necessary process," he said, "now doctors and health workers will get their salary within a week."
