Eight people were injured in two earthquakes of 5.2 magnitude and 5.5 magnitude last night, which had their epicenter in Kuse Rural Municipality-9 Pank of Jajarkot.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has said that according to the information received from the relevant district administration office and the National Emergency Operations Center, two people were injured in the earthquake in Rukumpaschim and six in Jajarkot.
Authority spokesperson Ram Bahadur KC said that some private residences and government buildings in Jajarkot, Rukum Paschim and Kalikot districts had general cracks and buildings were cracked.
Most of the people were injured during the earthquake when they panicked and jumped from the roof or high part of the house, and tried to run away carelessly outside the house, rather than the collapse of the building structure they were living in, according to the authority.
The notice issued by the authority today says, 'When the earthquake occurred, the authority specifically requests everyone to carefully go to a safe place while considering the surrounding situation, to make the building structure earthquake-resistant from now on and to follow the rules from the point of view of earthquake safety in a disciplined manner.'
