Kalimati rural municipality of the district has distributed 24 mini tillers with 50% subsidy to the farmers, cooperatives and agricultural firm owners belonging to the groups of all the seven wards. The municipality has distributed mini tillers in order to prevent the situation of barrenness of the fields due to the fact that the farmers are giving up rearing oxen and cattle for plowing the fields.

Village Chairman Dan Bahadur Khatri said that the municipality has distributed mini tillers worth 1.5 million 60 thousand with a 50% subsidy to connect agriculture with technology.  He informed that farmers belonging to groups, firms and cooperatives suffered 780,000.

mini tiller groups and cooperative farmers can all use it in turn according to their needs. He said that more than a hundred farmers of the municipality will benefit from the mini tiller. 

Hark Bahadur Wali, chief administrative officer of the municipality, said that the mini tillers were distributed according to the demand of the farmers. He says that the demand for mini tiller is increasing because it is not only easier to plow but also faster than oxen.
