Worker missing after falling from boat in Karnali river

A worker has gone missing while crossing the Karnali river on a drum boat. 23-year-old Devnath Sejuwal of Mugu Rara Chayanath Municipality-10, who works on the Ghatchaur-Laifu road in the Karnali Corridor, went missing in the Karnali River on Monday morning.

Sejuwal, who has been working as a wage laborer in the Karnali Corridor for 10 months, fell into the river while coming to work from across the Karnali River on a boat made of diesel drums, said Kishor KC, Acting Police Chief of Kalikot. "They fell into the river while crossing the river by riding a boat made of 3 drums," he said. He informed that although the locals and the police were searching, they were not found.

11 km from Ghatpari Chaur in Kalikot Palata-9 of Karnali Corridor to Laifoo in Bajura is being constructed by the Nepali Army under the responsibility of blasting rocks. At present, the road has been cut from Bolu village of Nanikot to Ghatpari Chowr through a detour. Karnali river will be shortened by 10 km after the tag is opened.
