In the meeting with the stakeholders, the division forest office presented a progress report and it was emphasized that the forest should be saved and promoted as a source of income.

Jumla, which has the potential of various herbs and different species of forest produce, has raised a satisfactory revenue this time. Bharat Budthapa, head of Division Forest Office, said that there has been significant progress in revenue collection.

According to him, revenue is raised from forest products and herbs. Division chief Budthapa said that if the protection of forest produce and protection of herbs, it seems that sufficient income can be made. Last year, the revenue could not be collected because the forest management could not make a five-year action plan. 'The progress of the Forest Division was not much seen last year,' Chief Budthapa said, 'This year, good revenue has been collected within eight months.' 'Forest encroachment is intense in Jumla. But the encroachment of 5 hectares of forest area has been removed,' Chief Budthapa said, 'A new action plan has been made for 46 forests. Two community forests have been registered. The conservation, utilization and management of forest area is given priority. In the

meeting, the stakeholders said that emphasis should be placed on income growth from removing encroachments on community forest, Kabuliyyat forest and national forest. Gaurinand Archay, head of the district coordination committee, expressed concern that the forest area is being eroded by uncontrolled human activities.

There are 206 community forests, 127 confessional forests and 6 private forests in Jumla. According to the division office, Kabuliyati forest is very inactive, while the community forest is currently dominated by the consumer committee.

Chairman of the Community Forest Consumer Federation Gorkan Chaulagai said that emphasis should be placed on the conservation of the important forest products found in the forests such as bhojapatra, dhupi, and salla. "Only certain individuals and groups are benefiting from the community forest," he said, "the time has come for all concerned to come together to remove encroachment."

The meeting decided to include the revenue of walnut root, cedar oil and castor oil in the forest regulations, to effectively monitor the industries based on forest products, to stop unorganized collection of forest products, to evaluate the environmental impact, and to make community forests transparent and accountable .
