A woman has died after being buried by a mound of mud in Jumla. 25-year-old Bimala Sunar of Chandannath Municipality-6, who had gone to fetch soil for plastering her house, died after being buried in the mound.

She was buried when a mound of earth suddenly fell while she was extracting soil in a clay pit in Malavid located in Chandannath Municipality-4.

According to Jumla police chief DSP Chedilal Kamti, 5/6 people, including the deceased Bimala Sunar, went to fetch soil. Suddenly, after a mound of soil fell, Bimala died while the others managed to escape.

District Police Office Jumla informed that the body was taken to Karnali Institute of Health Sciences in Jumla for postmortg. The deceased goldsmith's husband is currently working abroad.
