While trying to extinguish the fire in the forest, one person died of burns. 80-year-old Bhadra Rawal was burnt to death while trying to extinguish the fire in Rupakot forest of Sinja Rural Municipality-1.
Chairman of Sinja Rural Municipality Purnaprasad Dhital informed that he died while extinguishing the fire that broke out around two o'clock on Sunday afternoon. The fire inside the apple orchard spread to the forest. Rawal was burnt to death while fighting the fire.
The fire has not yet been brought under control. Village Chairman Dhital said that coordination with the security agencies is underway to control the fire.
