The draft of the second five-year plan of Karnali province has been passed. The meeting of the provincial development council passed the draft. The approved draft will be taken to the cabinet meeting. It will be implemented after being approved by the Cabinet meeting.
Karnali Province Planning Commission has informed that the draft has been passed with some suggestions. Suryanath Yogi, the Vice Chairman of the State Planning Commission informed that the draft is being finalized by incorporating the suggestions received.
In Karnali's second five-year plan, good governance, social justice and general prosperity have been prioritized. The goal of the five-year plan is to build a productive and employment-oriented economy through good governance and social justice. In the plan prepared by the commission, production and employment based on green economy, infrastructure and interconnection, water resources, clean energy and drinking water, health, nutrition and population, education, science and technology and human capital, good governance and digital Karnali have been considered as priorities for the development of the province.
In the five-year plan, hydropower production, organic and non-organic agricultural production, tourism development, North-South road corridor, industry based on local production, quality physical infrastructure, entrepreneurship and employment promotion, innovation and digital Karnali, youth, initiation, competent, healthy and Sabal Human Resources has been positioned as a 'game changer' program for Karnali.
