The farmers of Jumla have complained to the Chief Minister of Karnali, Yamlal Kandel, that they are suffering because of the lack of market for apples. They requested the provincial government to find the price and market for apples.

In the Chief Minister's program with the apple farmers organized by the District Agriculture Development Office, the farmers complained to the Chief Minister Kandel that although Jumla is a district famous for apples, the government has not managed the market.

Narayan Choulagai of Chandannath Municipality-4 said that every year farmers face problems when exporting apples. He said, "Farmers are very excited when the orchards produce lots of apples. But when it's time to pack them and take them to the market, the sad days begin."

He demanded that the state government should ensure the apple market. He said that even if the government has blacklisted only the Karnali highway, it will be easy for the market.

He suggested that government subsidy on apples should be stopped. "Mr. Chief Minister, farmers who have no access have not received the subsidy," he said. He said that he could not take it to the market. He said, "First of all, we need a paved road". The road will help to take fresh apples to the market.

He expressed his anger at the provision of subsidies only to farmers of 50 hectares and argued that even farmers who planted apples in 50 square meters should be able to enjoy government services.

The farmers of Jumli have requested the Chief Minister Kandel to set up a soil testing farm, to give practical knowledge to the agricultural technicians who have acquired only theoretical knowledge, and to arrange cold storage to store apples for a long time.

Gopal Rokaya of Hima Rural Municipality-1 requested to arrange arrangements to sell Jumli apples via Nepalganj to Lucknow via Rupaidia. He said, "It is much easier to deliver apples to Lucknow than to Kathmandu." The price of apples in India is also . The market is also good," he said, "Karnali government should create an environment for exporting abroad. We are farmers waiting for this.'

The farmers told the problem of increasing the infection of disease and insects in apples, the lack of timely rains and the decline in production every year due to the lack of agricultural technology.

After hearing the problems of the farmers, Chief Minister Kandel said that he came to Jumla to listen to the farmers and was positive to address the problems of the farmers. He said, "The budget for the current fiscal year has been implemented." Now I will listen to the farmers and try to include them in the next budget.'

Chief Minister Kandel says that prosperity cannot be brought to Karnali without the development of the agricultural sector, and the time has come to address the small problems of the farmers.

In Jumla, Jumli apple is cultivated in an area of 4,475 hectares. In the current financial year alone, the district has sold 614.1 million rupees of apples.
