Syangja Police has launched a QR code service with the aim of providing necessary information related to road safety to domestic and foreign tourists traveling by vehicle.
Ward Police Office Waling has launched a QR-based information service at the Nepal Police checkpoint in Ramdi, Galyang Municipality-1, which is the main gateway to Gandaki Province, with the aim of providing security and facilitation to tourists. Hari Prasad Kafle, Deputy Inspector of Police at Ward Police Office Waling, informed that this service has been launched from Thursday.
He said that after scanning the QR code, which was prepared especially for tourists and drivers, important travel-related information can be obtained in both audio and text formats in English and Nepali.
QR codes include the distance and location of major tourist destinations, the condition of the relevant road section, details of the most accident-prone areas, traffic rules, contact numbers of police offices around the highway, information about hospitals and health institutions, petrol pumps, charging stations for electric vehicles, public toilets, market areas, hotels and restaurants, and various tourist sites.
According to the police, this service has been launched with the aim of providing safety and facilitation to passengers and tourists. It is believed that making necessary information easily available during travel will help reduce traffic accidents, increase road discipline, and provide tourists with a comfortable and safe travel experience.
This technology-friendly initiative launched in the Ramdi region, known as the gateway to Gandaki Province, is expected to make public service delivery more effective through the use of modern information technology and also contribute positively to tourism promotion.
