Necessary materials have been handed over to security personnel in Lamjung to make fire control effective.

The Division Forest Office, Lamjung, has provided fire control materials to the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police on the occasion of the Fire Management Week.

According to office officer Santosh Khanal, one set of backpack fire extinguisher sprayer, four swatters, four iron-handled rakes, four pairs of cotton jumpsuits, four pairs of black leather boots, four ordinary cap masks, four safety helmets, four pairs of gloves and socks have been handed over to the security personnel.

Stating that the participation of the three levels of government and the community is necessary in fire control, Divisional Forest Officer Deepak Prasad Pandit said that the office has provided the necessary materials to the security personnel for fire control.

According to him, the materials have been distributed with the aim of facilitating control and management in view of the increasing fire risk in the forest area. According to the office, various awareness programs have also been conducted on the occasion of Forest Fire Management Week (Chait 1 to Chait 7).

Similarly, to make forest fire control and management effective, the Division Forest Office, Lamjung, has formed a rapid response team under the coordination of Forest Officer Santosh Khanal. The team includes Haribhakta BK, a buyer of the District Administration Office, Kewal Singh Pun, an assistant soldier of Chandi Prasad Battalion, Udipur Barracks, ASI Hariram Bohara of the District Police Office, ASI Nawaraj Magar of the Armed Police Force, Lamjung, and Baburam Magrati, an indicator of the National Investigation District Office.

Similarly, Shanta Sapkota, President of the Community Forest Users Federation Nepal Lamjung, Dev Bahadur Gahatraj, a forest user of Khasur Community Forest Users Group, Besisahar Municipality-10, and Purna Rimal, a community forest user of Bhotechaur Paleko, Besisahar Municipality-10, are also members.

Division Forest Chief Pandit said that a team has been formed to reduce the risk of forest fires and make quick rescue and control work effective in emergencies.
