Baglung is going to host a 'Maha Paritra' after 25 years. The Maha Paritra is going to be held on Magh 26, organized by Gyanodaya Buddha Bihar Baglung.

The discourse given by Gautam Buddha in Pali language in a way that was understandable to his followers 2,500 years ago is called Mahaparitra.

Mahaparitra was previously held in Baglung in 2057 BS. Lilambar Bajracharya, the chairman of Gyanodaya Buddha Bihar Baglung, said that this time it is being held after 25 years.

Bajracharya said that the program was organized with 40 monks from all over the country giving sermons along with recitations of the 29 sutras of Mahaparitra. ‘The program has been planned to convey the words of Buddha to everyone,’ he said, ‘This will help people in knowledge and meditation.’ The organizer has stated that the cost of the one-day Mahaparitra will be 1 million rupees.
