Training has begun in Baglung for election police who will be deployed in the House of Representatives elections on February 21.
A 10-day training course has begun for 1,298 election police officers in Baglung.
Even when the notice was published three times for the recruitment of election police officers, 212 fewer people applied than the required number. Out of the 1,298 election police officers who applied for Baglung, 1,086 people applied and the other 212 people were recruited from the District Police, Myagdi, said Baglung Police Chief SP Tilak Bharti. Training has begun for election police officers in five places in Baglung. This training will be conducted for 10 days.
Of the election police officers selected through the recruitment process, 59 people have been trained at the Area Police Office, Barengdanda, 310 at Burtiwang, 181 at Galkot, and the remaining 748 people have been trained at the District Police Office.
The District Police Office has stated that necessary arrangements have been made for the security manpower that will be insufficient in the district during the elections.
