Twelve people were injured in an EV micro-vehicle accident at Satrasaya, Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality-1, along the Prithvi Highway, on Friday evening at around 7:10 pm.
According to the District Police Office Tanahun, the accident occurred when the driver of the EV micro vehicle bearing the number B.P. 01-002J8518, which was heading from Kathmandu to Pokhara, lost control and hit the road divider.
Out of the 12 people in the accident, 2 are in serious condition, 4 are in moderate condition and 6 are slightly injured, the District Police Office Tanahun has said.
The seriously injured EV micro driver is Manish Kunwar, 23, of Harkapur under Namobuddha Municipality, Kavrepalanchok. He has internal injuries to his stomach and chest. Similarly, Anjali Pun, 21, of Chamere Gufa under Kaski Pokhara Metropolitan City, is unable to speak due to head injuries.
The moderately injured are Dhiraj Yadav, 19, of Madhav Narayan Municipality-1, Rautahat, Adarsh Sunar, 20, of Anamnagar, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Raj Balami, 23, of Thaha Municipality-9, Makawanpur, (co-driver), and Ichha Limbu, 20, of Hilihang Rural Municipality-3, Panchthar.
The injured have been sent to Aanbukhaireni Hospital for treatment. The driver, co-driver, and Anjali have been referred to Purana Medical College, Bharatpur, Chitwan for further treatment, according to the police.
The condition of the six people with minor injuries is out of danger, so they did not need to be admitted to the hospital, according to the police. The District Police Office, Tanahun, has stated that further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
