One person has died and another has been seriously injured in a scooter accident in Gunadi, Myagde Rural Municipality-1 of the district along the Prithvi Highway.
According to Police Station Tharpu Tanahun, the accident occurred at around 08:35 on Thursday morning when the driver of the scooter (Ga 12 Pa 4769) coming from Pokhara to Damauli lost control and the scooter overturned on the road.
The scooter driver, 27-year-old Puran Rana Magar of Myagde-3 shop, was seriously injured in the accident with bleeding from the nose and injuries to his neck, chest and legs. He has been brought to the Provincial Hospital in Damauli for treatment.
Similarly, Sumitra Thapa Magar, 27, of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-16, Chitwan, who was riding the scooter, suffered serious head injuries.
During treatment, doctors declared her dead at 08:55 in the morning. Police said that further investigation is underway into the cause of the accident.
