A pedestrian has died after being hit by a mini truck in Narighant, Abunkhaireni Rural Municipality-2, in the district along the Prithvi Highway.
The deceased has been identified as Dal Bahadur Thapa Magar, aged 60, a resident of Jumlang, Gorkha Municipality-14, according to the Area Police Office, Abukhaireni.
According to the police, at around 8:15 pm on Friday, a white mini truck with registration number B.P. 03-001 Ka 0268, which was heading from Dumre to Abukhaireni, hit Thapa Magar, who was walking on foot.
Thapa Magar, who was seriously injured in the collision, was immediately sent to the Old CMC Hospital, Chitwan for treatment. He suffered a serious head injury and was unable to speak. During treatment, the doctors declared him dead at around 9:40 pm.
The mini truck driver, who was absconding after the incident, has been taken into custody by the checking team of the Aabukhaireni Police Bit Muglinpul Zip Tanahun deployed from the Area Police Office, Abukhaireni. The arrested person has been identified as Babulal Lo, 29, a resident of Sarikhet Palase Rural Municipality-1, Makawanpur district.
