After Baburam Bhattarai, who is also the patron, withdrew his nomination on Friday, the Progressive Democratic Party (PRALOP) has said that it has not decided to support any other candidate.

The party's district coordinator Narayan Khatri has issued a statement saying that the party will make its stance public to support the appropriate candidate.

After Pralopa's Gorkha-2 and Gorkha-1 candidate Gopalbabu Shrestha withdrew their candidacies, candidates close to various parties on social media claimed that Pralopa had supported them.

After various criticisms on social media, Pralopa has requested the party cadre to vote for the 'eye' election symbol for proportional representation.

'We apologize for the shock caused to the party cadre, supporters, well-wishers and the public by the recent decision, and express our commitment to continue the party's regular work with even higher morale,' the statement said.
