Ramchedanda, located in Waling Municipality-12 of Syangja, has recently become a favorite among domestic tourists.

Located on the top of the hill, with a flat and some steep open fields, the place offers a view of some places in Syangja, Parbat, Gulmi, Palpa, and Kaski districts. Ramchedanda is also becoming a favorite among domestic tourists because it offers a view of the snow-capped Machhapuchhre, Annapurna, Nilgiri, and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges to the north.

Since it is a beautiful place, work is being done to build infrastructure to develop this place as a tourist area, informed Waling-12 Ward Chairman Bishwajung Gurung. He said that budgets have been allocated for the construction of tourism infrastructure in this place at various times from the ward, city, province, and union governments.

'As the rate of migration of villagers to cities is increasing day by day, we have been developing Ramchedanda as a tourist area with the aim of keeping the villagers in the village and connecting them with income,' he said.

To attract domestic and foreign tourists here, buildings, waiting rooms, pavilions, and toilets suitable for everyone from small children to adults have been constructed with the personal support and labor of wards, cities, provinces, associations, and locals.

According to Ward Chairman Gurung, approximately Rs. 45-5 million has been spent on Ramchedanda from the government budget and from 2079 BS to date, including the support of local communities and donors. Although Ramchedanda is a place with great potential in terms of tourism, this place has been overlooked due to lack of publicity. If this place could be promoted, more tourists would come here to visit and have a forest feast.

Schools, organizations, groups, and clubs come to this place to have a forest feast, especially on holidays. Keeping in mind the convenience of those who come to have a forest feast, the local Bhauju group will arrange for drinking water, electricity, cooking utensils, gas, and firewood, said Bhagima Gurung, the president of the Bhauju group.

According to her, groups come to this place to have a forest feast. Some bring their own utensils and gas, while others use the utensils and gas provided by the local community.

There is a Gurung community settlement near Ramchedanda called Chaap village. People go there especially on Dashain-Tihar, other holidays, and on Fridays and Saturdays to have a forest feast and enjoy the scenery. Since Ramchedanda has a dirt road, it can be reached by jeep and motorcycle. Jivlal Kafle of Waling-8, who reached Ramchedanda just a few days ago, said that the place is very attractive and suitable for sightseeing.

'I had heard people who had reached Ramchedanda talking about it,' he said, 'I had always wanted to see Jamla and its beauty, but after going there, it felt really good and attractive.'

Recently, with the construction of infrastructure in Ramchedanda, the attraction of domestic tourists has been increasing.
