The Congress Gandaki Province Committee has recommended to the Center to hold the party's 15th general convention regularly within the month of Mangsir.

Spokesperson Madhav Prasad Bastola informed that the provincial-level gathering organized by Gandaki Province in Pokhara on Saturday has unanimously recommended to the center to hold a regular general convention of the party within Mangsir. He informed that the provincial committee has also recommended to the center the decision to hold a special general convention as per the party statute if the regular general convention cannot be held.

The gathering, attended by representatives from all 11 districts of the province, expressed sorrow over the incident that took place on Bhadra 23 and 24 and objected to the attack on party president Sher Bahadur Deuba and his wife.

Addressing the gathering, provincial president Shukraraj Sharma stressed that in the changed political situation of the country, it is necessary to hold the 15th general convention of the party regularly and if the regular convention cannot be held, a special general convention should be held. He said that the Nepali Congress should take its principles forward by taking the Nepali people along with it, and that the party is getting further away from the people by abandoning its principles. 'Congress leaders and cadres should work to serve the people by considering them as their masters. For that, a general convention should be held. 'Only regular general conventions will strengthen the party,' said President Sharma
