After the incident of beating, Sita's daughter-in-law Shobha BK, who was at home, informed the Deupur police station and the District Police Office, which reached the police station and arrested the accused Jit Bahadur, said Police Inspector Sudip Bhandari. He was taken into custody by the locals and kept in custody.
Accused Jit Bahadur was released on bail on Monday after serving his sentence on the charge of marital rape. His wife had released him on bail.
The police informed that he attacked his wife after having dinner on the same day he reached home. His three sons are abroad for employment, while four people, including his daughter-in-law, were living at home. Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
