The District Administration Office has banned trekking in Manang along the Annapurna Trek for a week.

The administration has urged hikers not to go trekking for a week as there is a risk of avalanches even after the snowfall stops. Chief District Officer Nawaraj Paudyal informed that it has become easier for tourists who went trekking in the Annapurna Conservation Area to return after the snow-covered road was opened.

'The road blocked by snowfall since Monday night has been opened after dozers were used to clear the snow. The road up to Khangsar has been opened. The trekking is not yet open,' he said, 'Even if the snow and rain stop, trekking is not possible right now.'

About 1,500 domestic and foreign tourists were rescued on Tuesday. Of these, about 200 were foreign tourists. About 400 tourists who were stranded at the Tilicho base camp due to snowfall returned after being unable to go to Tilicho.
