Traffic has resumed on the road connecting Raghuganga Rural Municipality-8, Ghyansikharka, and Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-2, Lulang, in Myagdi after four months.
The road connecting Lulang to Ghyansikharka and Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-2 had been blocked since last Ashar after the flood level in Darkhola in Raghuganga Rural Municipality-7 increased due to the Malang landslide in Chimkhola.
According to Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality Vice-Chairman Resham Punamagar, traffic was operated on the road connecting Lulang by placing a hummock pipe after the water level in Darkhola decreased.
Since there is no motorable bridge in Darkhola, traffic is often blocked on the road connecting Lulang and Gurja villages during the rainy season.
Similarly, after the Malang landslide was cleared by mobilizing dozers with the help of the Chimkhola-Rahughat-Mangle, Thulokhola and Upper Thulokhola Hydropower Projects built on the Rahughat River, traffic was operated on the road connecting Ghyansikharka while Chimkhola was still flowing.
Local levels have reported that all roads blocked during the rains, including Ghyansikharka and Lulang in remote areas of Myagdi, have been repaired and transportation has resumed.
With the reopening of transportation, it has become easier for residents of rural areas to travel, transport construction materials and food, and sell agricultural and livestock products.
