Dahal did not disclose the matter outside the country in the letter. He has mentioned in the subject letter that he is outside the ward and cannot be present.
After his wife was diagnosed with DV, in June 2081, he went to America after giving a caretaker to a ward member. He gave the role of acting ward president to female ward member Lakshmi Giri on June 16, 2016, saying that she would be out of the ward for a few days. Dahal gave the reason why he had to go to Kathmandu for a week for treatment because a family member was injured in an accident.
After reaching America, he sent another message that he would return in two months. Later again asked for 6 months time. He asked for a last chance to come back in a year. Even after a year, he did not return. Last time, he sent a message to the rural municipality chairman that he will return in Kattik.

With his resignation, one of the four members is ready to be given the responsibility of acting ward president. Village Chairman Devijang Gurung said that they were asked to send the name of one person after consulting four members. After the ward president resigned, the caretaker given by him is not acceptable. We have said that one of the members should come together, we will appoint him as the caretaker and send him," he said.
In the local elections of 2079, Dahal won from the Maoists. In Madi-12, three out of four members are elected from UML and one member from Congress.
