A 10-km tourist footpath has been constructed from Dharche-1 Megachet to Yachu targeting nature-loving tourists.

Chairman of Manaslu Tourism Development Committee Sane Gurung informed that a 10 km tourist trail has been constructed through Megachet-Chankar Himal Phedi-Rangsar Danda-Kalopokhari-Yachukhark-Gumbadanda to Hulchok.

"There was mapping for the tourist footpath in 2079, but there was no road," he said, "We have identified a new destination and built the footpath." He said that the goal is to develop the footpath as a camp trail.

There is no settlement on this trail. The footpath has been built covering the area where sheep and cows graze. He said that the tourism department spent about 6 million for the construction of the footpath. On July 8, the construction of the footpath started from Megachet. The work was almost completed on October 5,' Gurung said, 'We have constructed about 10 kilometers of footpath in a period of 3 months.' Gurung said that Ganesh Kund can be reached after a day's walk from Megachet in Gorkha. "This is a seven-day tourist trail, it is suitable for short hikers," he said. He said, "We have constructed a footpath by making stairs, soling, gabions, wire netting, 3 squares have also been constructed in the footpath area," he said, "A waiting hall has been constructed near Kalopokhari, we have also placed longdars (flags) at places/places to indicate that tourists do not lose their way." Those who travel through the said trail can also observe the Kalopokhari (3466 meters) of Dharche-2, Sarkila Pass (4130). Management of drinking water on the footpath has not been done. "After camp trail, it will be easier for tourists if they can build two porter houses," he said. As a fair is held in Kalopakhari on Janaipurnim, the footpath has also been constructed targeting religious tourists.
