A petrol pump has been put into operation in Pokhara with an investment of around 10 million rupees by the Nepal Police Welfare Fund. A petrol pump has been operational since Tuesday under the Nepal Police Provincial Office at Pokhara Metropolitan City-7 Pardi (Sahid Chowk area).

DSP Prakash Sapkota, information officer of the office, said that diesel and petrol will be sold and distributed 24 hours a day from this petrol pump. Construction work started a year ago. In the meantime, a writ was filed in the court and there was a disturbance for 3 months," he said, "We have started the service since yesterday."

This petrol pump was built at a cost of 99.6 million 65 thousand rupees from the police welfare fund. In October last year, a petition was filed in the High Court in Pokhara asking to stop the construction work, saying that the sale of petroleum products in the area where there are government offices including the district administration office could affect the future. After the court dismissed the writ in December last year, the construction work proceeded.

With the operation of this petrol pump, it will be very convenient for the residents of Rashtra Bank Chowk, Ratnachowk, Damside, Lakeside, Masbar areas. Residents of this area had to go to Biruta, Shantinagar or Prithvi Chowk to fill their vehicles.
