Lamjung police have arrested and handed over 39 prisoners and detainees who escaped from various districts on August 24 when the Zenji movement was raging.
Prisoners and detainees who escaped from Kaski, Tanahun, Chitwan, Kathmandu and Lamjung have been trapped by the police.
24 people from Kaski prison, 13 people from Tanahun prison, 1 each from Kathmandu and Chitwan were arrested and sent to the respective places according to Chief DSP Resham Bohra of District Police Office Lamjung. According to him, 11 people were arrested on August 26 and 27, 18 on 28, 6 on 29 and 4 on 30. "Based on various information, we have taken control of them from their villages and city markets and sent them to the prison where they are living," he said. According to him, those arrested are mostly from Lamjung Ghar .
After Lamjung District Jail collapsed due to rain 2 months ago, the inmates and detainees were sent to Kaski and Tanahun Jails . As the Zenji movement intensified, the police said that the prisoners who had escaped from Kaski and Tanahun prisons and the detainees came home.
