Out of 327 people who absconded on the night of August 24 last year under the pretext of Genji movement, 109 people have been arrested till date, according to District Police Office Tanahun.
Deputy Superintendent of Police of District Police Office Tanahun Ashok Thapa informed that 68 men, nine women and 32 men were arrested. The police have requested the prisoners who absconded from Tanahun prison under the pretext of Genji movement to come in contact. Taking advantage of the developed unequal situation in the country, detainees and prisoners who are absconding from custody and prison have been asked to contact the nearest police office or prison office voluntarily, Thapa said.
Otherwise, the Deputy Superintendent of Police of District Police Office Tanahun, Ashok Thapa informed that they will be detained using force based on the need. In addition, the general public has been appealed to inform the police if they know that the prisoners who have escaped from the prison have come to the neighborhood.
