Santosh Hotel at Prithvi Chowk in Pokhara was a center of activity a decade and a half ago. Siddharth Highway was the main destination for travelers going to Dang-Dhangadhi via Syangja, Palpa, Gulmi, Arghakhanchi, Butwal, so the hotel was always busy. The owner of the hotel was 38-year-old Thakur Vick of Arjunchoupari rural municipality-5 in Syangja. The hotel was running well, the earnings were also satisfactory.
Female - male staff worked in the hotel. As Thakur was busy with financial transactions, the daily management was in charge of the staff. One day Ram Babu Prasad Kalwar came to the hotel as a customer. One day he was staying and ate food - lunch, but did not pay the rent. Rambabu stayed with 16-year-old Sunita Vick, who worked in the hotel. Sunita was a resident of Kalikasthan, Pokhara. The next day, while paying the expenses, there was a heated argument between Rambabu and Thakur.
The controversy flared up as he was forced to pay more bills than what was spent. Rambabu left 1500 cash, mobile phone and motorcycle at the hotel and left on the condition that he would come back later. After a while he returned but with the police.
Rambabu filed a complaint at the district police office and accused the woman and himself of kidnapping and holding the body hostage. After the complaint of kidnapping and body hostage was filed against the girl, the police became serious and the case reached the court.
This incident is on June 18, 2069. Rambabu filed a complaint with the police on 23rd May. It was said in the complaint, "At 1:00 p.m. on the 18th of June, 2069, Thakur Bahadur Vick kidnapped from Santosh Hotel in Prithvichowk, Pokhara - 9, took 1,500 cash, a mobile phone and a motorcycle and held the body hostage, and left him only the next day on the 19th, so action should be taken according to law."
On June 12, the police submitted the case to the district court. Thakur was remanded in custody by the court's remand order. He was released on bail after 8 months. Disagreeing with the decision of the District Court, Rambabu went to the Court of Appeal. The appeal court (currently Pokhara High Court) found Thakur guilty on 18th Chait 2070 and sentenced him to 2 years 9 months 5 days imprisonment and a fine of 25,000 rupees. Since then, Thakur was absconding.
Thakur's family, who went to Qatar for foreign employment for a long time, was living in Pokhara - 17 Chorepatan. The family called her to Nepal after her mother's health condition became serious. After the death of his mother, Thakur lived in Kiriamkam. However, the plainclothes police increased vigilance and arrested them from the house on August 10th. "We were searching," District Police Chief Dadhiram Neupane said, "we caught him from home while he was walking with his bag." After coming to Nepal, time was given to do the work on the basis of humanity. However, the police say that the accused was absconding and was finally arrested.
On August 11, Thakur was produced in the district court and sent to the district jail to serve the prison sentence, the police said. District Police Office Syangja is conducting a campaign to arrest the absconding criminals in various cases. Police inspector Pravesh Tiwari said, "We have launched this special campaign to make the execution of the court's verdict swift and effective." Building a safe and just society is our aim.'
