Due to continuous rains, the flow of Kaligandaki river has reached a high point. The river level has increased due to heavy rains in Mustang, Myagdi, Baglung and Parbat.

Gagerider Krishna Prasad Subedi informed that the river level reached its highest point this year this morning. He said that the river has been flowing at a height of 6 meters and 40 centimeters from the surface of the river since morning. This is the highest measurement this year. He said that there is a possibility that the flow will decrease as the rains have stopped.

The residents of coastal areas are at risk after the flow of Kaligandaki river has increased. Bagarphant, Waribeni, Milanchok, Lasti, Khanianghat, Maldhunga, Kushma Municipality, Nayapul, Modiveni, Jaiminighat of Phalewas Municipality and Setivenibazar of Bihadi Rural Municipality are at high risk.

Shaligram Shila located on the border of Parbat, Syangja and Gulmi has also been submerged by the current. Priests and Pandits working in the area have also become worried after Shila was submerged. Tilak Parajuli informed that all the structures including the sacred Shaligram Shila and the Sattal of the Shaligram area have been submerged. He said that the embankment and gabions made for the protection of the rock were washed away by the water and the infrastructure to visit the rock was also completely damaged.

With the increase in the flow of Kaligandaki and Setikhola, about 200 traders and general public are at risk in the market area on the mountain and in the market area towards Syangja due to the fear of flooding of Setiveni market.
