In the west section (Pokhara-Jamune) of the Pokhara-Muglin road project, 11 bridges have been built and two bridges are under construction.

Bridge construction has been completed in Magdekhola, Kumlekhola, Thadekhola, Samdikhola, Mulkhola, Fedikhola-1, Fedikhola-2, Rudikhola, Haledikhola, Kalikhola and Kotrekhola in Kaski. According to Krishna Bahadur Kunwar, the head of the western section of the

project, Kaski's Vijaypur under the road contract and Seti bridge under the bridge contract are under construction. He informed that the physical progress of Vijaypur river bridge has reached 60 percent and the physical progress of Seti bridge has reached 48 percent. Chief Kunwar said that it will take another five to six months to build the Vijaypur bridge.

The physical progress of the Seti Bridge, whose three-year contract period will end in August, is also seen to be minimal. In July 2079, Rasuwa Construction took over the construction of the bridge. Chief Kunwar said that the bridge could not be built on time due to the delay in the work from the approval of the design of the bridge to the removal of the structure within the standards.  He said that the sub-structure work has been completed on the cable-stayed bridge and now the super-structure work is being done on the downstream bridge. The construction company said that although the construction of the foundation of the signature bridge, which will be made with an attractive design, will take more time, the work of the upper structure including the tower will be done quickly. On the six-lane road, below and above the existing China Bridge, two signature bridges of attractive structure will be built.

The bridge is being constructed through the road department with the loan support of the Asian Development Bank. The construction of the bridge is being done under a contract worth Rs 94 crore excluding VAT. Concrete and steel have been used in the bridge. Before the construction of the bridge, a team with foreign technicians designed the bridge. As part of the Pokhara-Muglin road four-lane expansion and upgrading project, a signature bridge is being constructed over Seti in Pokhara in the western section and Madi in Tanahun in the eastern section.

Pokhara-Muglin road under the Prithvi Highway, which was built fifty years ago, was expanded and upgraded from April 2078. If there are no obstacles in the construction, the road upgrading work will be completed by the next winter, according to the project office.

The physical progress in the eastern section (Jamune-Muglin) of the road, which is the lifeline of Gandaki province, has reached 86 percent and 55.10 percent in the western section (Pokhara-Jamune). It is said that although the black sheet work has been completed in the eastern section of a total distance of 41.45 km, road marking, beautification and other works remain.

After the deadline for extension for the third time in the eastern section ended on June 29, the project office said that the process of extending the deadline has been moved forward. In the western section of the total distance of 38.88 km, so far 36.5 km of one-way (two-lane) roads have been covered with the first layer of black paper, said Chief Kunbar .

'In a distance of 26.38 km two-way (four lanes) has been blacked', he said, '103 out of one hundred and five culverts have been constructed .' Chief Kunwar said that the contract period of the western section will end on the 16th of January.
