The Kagbeni-Korla road under the Jomsom-Korla road, which is a project of national pride to connect North-South, has been blocked due to landslides.
The District Police Office Mustang has informed that the Korla road has been blocked since this morning after a landslide with rocks fell from the road at Manavir on the Korla highway with the rain last night.
District Police Office Deputy Superintendent of Police Chiring Kippa Lama informed that the road was blocked after a landslide with rocks fell from the road at Manebhir on Korla road about 200 meters north of Kagkhola in Kagbeni. He said that necessary manpower along with dozers have been sent to open the blocked road since some time ago.
After the Kagbeni-Korla road was blocked in Mustang, vehicles traveling to Upper Mustang were stopped. Lama informed that it may take some time to open the road due to the huge rocks falling from above. He said that for the time being, the work is to remove the landslide so that motorcycles and light vehicles can move.
With last night's rain in Mustang, the river level of Kaligandaki has risen. Here, the district administration office has asked the coastal areas to be alert.
