An air quality measurement center has been established in Mustang. The Environment Department of the Government of Nepal has established a center at Shaligram Udyan Park near the District Administration Office at Jomsom here.

Director General of the Department Gyanraj Subedi informed that the government has installed the necessary physical structure and technology for the establishment of the 31st air quality measurement center.

He said that the measurement center has been established here with the aim of maintaining environmental cleanliness, balancing pollution within certain limits, connecting with the elements of sustainable development and preventing adverse effects on human health. The director general of the department, Subedi, said that this type of air quality measurement center has been established in five places in the world at an altitude of 3,000 above sea level, and two of them are in Nepal.

'This type of technology has been installed in Rara in Mugu and then in Jomsom in Mustang. Previously, we have put air quality measurement centers into operation in 30 districts of Nepal. More than Rs 1 crore has been spent to install technology in Mustang,' he said. The department said that along with the construction of a puff panel house, two thousand kilowatts of solar energy solar panels, electricity access and internet connection have been installed here.

It is expected that the equipment installed here will be easy to decide the future strategy to be adopted to reduce air quality, environmental hygiene and environmental pollution. Director General Subedi informed that with the installation of technology in the measuring center, its test is being broadcast and during that process, the air quality here is only three.
