The 37.5 MW Chimkhola-Mangale-Rahughat hydropower project built in Raghuganga Rural Municipality has started trial production.

Tudi Power Company Limited is the promoter of the project after testing the physical structure including dam, descender (water stagnation pond) and tunnel and started generating electricity.

The representative of Tudi Power, Indra Dhakal, said that after the test is successful, the electricity of the project will be connected to the central transmission line. He said that the test will be completed in the next 15 days.

In Raghuganga Rural Municipality-8 Bandi, a dam and nearby 110 meters long, eight meters high and 30 meters wide water retention pond has been constructed.  Resident engineer Prakash Timilsina said that a 950-meter penstock pipeline was built to drop the water brought from the dam through a five-kilometer, 300-meter long tunnel to the power plant at Bagar in Raghuganga-7 Chimkhola.

The height of the outlet of the tunnel from the power plant is 360 meters. Ramechhap Sherpa and South Asian Infrastructure Pvt Ltd are the civil contractors of the project, which started construction in November 2077. The tunnel was dug from four places.

Machhapuchhre and BMW are Nepal Hydromechanical and Everest Hydro Electromechanical contractors. A transmission line with a capacity of 220 KV has been constructed from the power plant to the switchyard constructed in the power house complex of Rahughat hydropower project in Raghuganga Rural Municipality-3 Tilkenichour. There are 49 towers of the

transmission line. The electricity produced by the project will be connected to the 220 KV Dana-Kushma transmission line through 'Loop In, Loop Out' (Lilo).

Chimkhola-Mangale-Rahughat along with Tudi Power is the promoter of the 48.5 megawatt Upper Rahughat hydropower project costing Rs 14 billion.

Upper Rahughat is also in the final stage of construction. Chimkhola-Mangale-Rahughat is the first hydropower project completed in the Rahughat basin. The construction of 40 MW Rahughat, 21.3 MW Bolukhola and 22.3 MW Upper Bolukhola hydropower projects on the Rahughat river are in the process of completion.
