Gandaki government's budget will be presented today at 4 pm
Gandaki state government is presenting the budget for the next financial year 2082/83 in the state assembly on Sunday at 4 pm. Economic Affairs Minister Takaraj Gurung will present the budget for the next financial year.
A budget of around 32 and a half billion is ready to be presented for the next financial year. The government had brought a budget of 32 billion 978 million rupees in the current financial year. The provincial resource estimation committee had recommended the provincial government to come up with a budget of 29 billion 500 million for the next financial year. Initially, the government prepared to bring a budget of around 30 billion, but after the increase in the number of plans, the government added 2 billion programs.
The provincial government has set a ceiling of Rs 50 lakh for physical infrastructure, Rs 10 lakh for energy and water resources, and Rs 5 lakh each for social, tourism and forest ministries.
In Gandak, separate budget 'ceiling' has been given to include the plans of ruling party and opposition MPs in the annual development program. The ministry has given a 'ceiling' of 1 million to 25 million rupees to direct. Half of the 'ceiling' has been assigned to proportional MPs.
Directly elected MPs in Gandaki will get a project worth around 42 million rupees and proportional candidates will get around 23.5 million rupees. Gandaki has 36 direct and 24 proportional MPs. Rajiv Gurung (Deepak Manange), who was elected from Manang, is in prison and his post is suspended.
