The death toll in a jeep accident in Dhorpatan Municipality-5 Astu Batsedanda of Baglung on Friday evening has reached 4.
On Friday evening at 5:45 pm, when a jeep number 01001 Ch 1775 going from Burtibang Bazar to Dhorpatan Municipality-5 Chowr met with an accident, 70-year-old Nar Bahadur Karki of Dhorpatan Municipality-2 and 75-year-old Bhimkumari Budha of the same place died on the spot.
21-year-old Tika Kumari Kunwar of Dhorpatan Municipality-2, who was seriously injured, died on the way to Pokhara after general treatment at Burtibang Regional Hospital, while 75-year-old Manakumari Thapa of the same ward died on Saturday morning while undergoing treatment at Manipal Hospital in Pokhara, informed Anand Basnet, Chief Police Inspector of Area Police Office, Burtibang.
Jeep driver Baglung 27-year-old Govind Thapa of Dhorpatan Municipality-2, 18-year-old Lumbini Mahat of the same place, 23-year-old Indra Kunwar, 29-year-old Nirmaya Khatri, 38-year-old Devi Pariyar, 53-year-old Durgi Darzi, 12-year-old Anju Pariyar, 8-year-old Viano Budha Magar, 5-year-old Vinay Budha, 35-year-old Dalli of Dhorpatan Municipality-5 Vic, 11-year-old Shishir Karki of Dhorpatan-1 and 30-year-old Tanmaya Kunwar of Dhorpatan-5 are injured.
The injured are being treated at Manipal Hospital Pokhara and Mission Hospital Palpa. The jeep fell about 60 meters below the road.
