Gandaki's policy and program passed by majority

The annual policy and program of the Gandaki provincial government for the next financial year 2082/83 has been passed by the provincial assembly.

The resolution presented by Speaker Krishna Prasad Dhital for decision in Sunday's meeting was passed by the majority. Apart from the 27-member Congress and the Deputy Speaker, the 21-member UML parliamentarians were in favor of the proposal. Apart from the speaker, the opposition, consisting of 7 members, remained against the Maoist proposal. The opposition RPP, which has 2 members, remained neutral on policies and programs.

Provincial Chief Minister Dilliraj Bhatt presented the government's policy and program for the next fiscal year in the Parliament meeting on May 21. The plan to start printing and distribution of licenses by the state government in coordination with the union government is included in the policy and program.

It is the government's policy to arrange screening of infants to identify congenital diseases in hospitals under the province. The goal is to establish and strengthen emergency trauma care units in Dhaulagiri, Madhyabindu, Damauli, Syangja and Burtibang hospitals. There is a plan to establish a childless treatment center at Matri Shishu Miteri Provincial Hospital and a disability treatment center to treat children with intellectual and autism disabilities at Madhyabindu Provincial Hospital.

The free dialysis service will be continued and the AV fistula service will be provided free of charge at the Provincial General and Communicable Disease Hospital. Free provision of blood and blood products, financial assistance in the treatment of cancer, air rescue of at-risk pregnant and postpartum women, encouragement of women community health volunteers and social security programs have been continued.

It is mentioned that the construction of a high mountain sports stadium in Mustang will be carried forward in partnership with the association, state and local levels. The Chief Minister Public Governance Fellowship program is going to be launched to increase the effectiveness of the economic development and governance system. The aim of the government is to promote good governance, transparency and accountability of the government by ensuring policy results through the use of innovative thinking, knowledge and skills of talented youth.

Gorkha Durbar, Manakamana Temple, Liligkot Durbar, Khonlasonthar, Lamjung Durbar, Vindhyavasini Temple, Lomanthang Durbar, Muktinath Temple, Baglung Kalika, Purkot Kalika etc. are said to be listed in the World Heritage List. The government plans to develop Gandaki province as a health tourism hub. There is a policy to study the feasibility of building a lead bridge on Rupa Lake in Pokhara for the purpose of promoting tourism.

It is mentioned in the policy and program that the Sep Gandaki project will be started in Gorkha, Lamjung, Tanahun and Kaski districts with the support of the Japanese government. The government's policy is to start an agricultural ambulance service in partnership with the local level to market the produce.

It is said that the regulation system will be made effective by controlling the financial abuse seen in the cooperative sector. The government has taken a policy to ensure the funds of the savers and encourage cooperatives that meet the objectives of the provincial government to adjust and cancel inactive cooperatives.

is included in the policy and program of holding an investment conference next year to attract internal and external investment. In addition, the government has a policy of making necessary legal arrangements for public-private partnerships to bring in investment in the infrastructure and service sector.

The earlier policy of continuing the construction of roads connecting Chumanubri of Gorkha and Narpabhumi Rural Municipality of Manang, which do not have a road network, has been reiterated. The state government is planning to expand and upgrade the road leading to Korla in Mustang, Ruila in Gorkha and Triveni Naka in Nawalparasi (East of Bardghat Susta).

A policy has been taken to develop Gandaki University as a specialized technical university. The state government is preparing to conduct the scientific research program run by the erstwhile Gandaki State Institute of Science and Technology from Gandaki University.

Now the provincial government will present the next year's budget in the provincial assembly on June 1.
