Water purification structure has been built along with the capacity expansion of the project which is distributing drinking water in the headquarters Beni Bazar.
The Federal Water Supply and Sewerage Management Project has constructed three tanks with a capacity of 900,000 liters to purify water in Barahpakho at a cost of 24.6 million rupees.
According to Ramesh Giri, chairman of the Beni Water Supply Project Consumer Committee, the water brought from the spring will be purified and supplied to the consumers in two stages. The water brought from the pipeline will be collected in a 'sedimentation' tank with a capacity of 350,000 liters.
The project was built in 2063 with a loan from the Urban Development Fund. Through the Beni Water and Sanitation Consumer Organization, drinking water has been distributed to 25,000 people of 1,216 houses in Beni Municipality, Ward No. 2 Handebhir, Ward No. 7 and 8, Benibazar.
Due to the increase in the demand for drinking water along with the population density in Beni, the capacity has been expanded to facilitate the supply. Rithhakhark, Dandakhark and Beni Municipality-3 in Annapurna Rural Municipality-8 have been supplying 24 liters of drinking water per second from the source of Kopre river. There is also an alternative structure to lift water from the Myadi river at Mangalaghat in Beni.
