A new 4-lane road will be constructed connecting Ambukhaireni Muglin
Muglin is going to be taken to Muglin by turning the road for about 7 kilometers from a little above Marsyangdi hydropower station under the Pokhara Prithvi Highway.
On the way from Muglin to Pokhara under the Prithvi Highway, the design and location of the road had to be changed for the safety of the Marsyangdi hydropower station on the way.
A highway will be built on the east side of the Gorkha hills by building a bridge over the Marsyangdi river from Bhubantar. After crossing the bridge, the road will connect to Muglin market again.
According to Chudaraj Dhakal, the director of the road project, for the safety of the Marsyangdi hydropower plant, which is 4 km north of Muglin (located on the road to Pokhara), the construction of a new road will start from Pallo Danda, an area of about 7 km of the highway. The highway had to be diverted there to protect water and electricity.
Dhakal informed that the road had to be changed to bypass the hydropower station. Currently, the construction of a new road is going to start on the east side of the current road. A 4-lane (two-lane) road will be constructed at Pallo Danda by constructing a bridge over the Marsyangdi River 4/500 meters north of the hydropower station (from the Ambukhareni side).
'That road will be connected to Muglin', Dhakal said, '2 new bridges of arch design will be built at both places.' About 7 kilometers of highway and 2 bridges will be built at a cost of 4 billion. The road network will be connected to Muglin Bazar from a little north east than the existing concrete bridge in Muglin.
Due to the fact that it is not possible to widen the highway that is currently operating through the hydropower center, about 7 kilometers of road has to be taken from the hill on the eastern side. Dhakal said that due to the risk that the power plant could be affected when the road is extended in the area of the hydropower station, the road had to be diverted to Muglin in that area. Muglin Pokhara road is 90 kilometers long.
