Till last year in Nawalparasi (before Bardghat Sustapur), cold drinks, juices and bottled drinks were widely used on the occasion of weddings, fasts and feasts. But now the situation is changing. From villages to cities, from simple feasts to party palaces, the use of honey and curd is becoming popular again.

Guru Pokhrel, owner of Panas Party Palace in Kawasoti said that the use of honey and curd has become mandatory in Bhojbhater for the last few years. "Earlier, honey and curd were a must in village houses. Even now honey and curd have been started in the feast", he said.  Mahi is now being presented as a special drink not only in

villages, but also in party palaces in Saharbazar. According to Pokhrel, the owner of Party Palace, earlier cold drinks and bottled drinks were kept. He said, 'Now the customers themselves ask for honey. We have started including Dahi Mahi in the Bhojbhater menu itself.' Mahi has also started to be used in meetings and formal programs organized recently in the

district. Raju Chapagain of Devchuli Municipality-10 said that ready-made juice or tea is served as a snack in such events.

'Mahi, which is a confluence of taste, health and culture, can be seen nowadays in formal programs along with Bhojbhater', he said. Especially in the summer season honey is cooling and cooling, so its use is increasing. According to Ramkumar Shrestha, Head of Health Branch of Devchuli Municipality, honey is rich in protein, calcium and electrolytes. He says that keeping honey instead of cold drinks in the banquet is beneficial for health.

As the demand started to increase, the local cattle breeders and dairy farmers started paying attention to the supply of curd and honey. Gangadhar Neupane, owner of Gauradevi New Agriculture and Animal Farm Kawasoti-6, said that the daily demand for curd and honey for feasts and events has increased. "Yesterday, hundreds of kilos of curd are requested at a party at once. This has benefited the farmers', he said.
